The Tragic Journey of the Zenghe Fleet (15th Century)

The legendary Chinese admiral Zheng He commanded several massive treasure fleets during the Ming Dynasty, exploring the Indian Ocean and enhancing trade routes. However, during one of his expeditions, a fleet met with disaster during a violent storm near the coast of Sumatra. While tales of adventure abound, this tragic event serves as a reminder of the perils faced by even the most skilled navigators, with much of the fleet being lost to the depths of the sea.

The Lost Expedition of John Franklin (1845)

In 1845, British explorer Sir John Franklin set sail from England in search of the Northwest Passage, a fabled route connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Equipped with two ships, HMS Erebus and HMS Terror, Franklin and his crew vanished in the icy waters of the Arctic. Over the years, numerous search missions were launched, but it wasn't until 2014 that the wreck of HMS Erebus was discovered, unraveling the mystery of their fateful expedition and igniting interest in one of history's greatest maritime enigmas.
